Snow Play!

So, we went out as a family and just played in the wet snow after lunch today. That really is the best packing snow and it wasn't that cold. We had wanted to do this last year, but the days were either too cold or the snow wasn't right.
I made the ball for the bottom of the snowman, demonstrating for Lily. She made the other two, but need help because she could no longer push the middle one to get it to the snowman.
You should have seen Kevin and I trying to lift that middle one up, I'm sure it would have been a hoot to anyone watching! We discussed carrot noses, but decided the squirrels and birds would eat it and I only had baby carrots in the house today, so we went all natural and used pine needles for hair and pine cones for buttons, nose, eyes and mouth. Turned out pretty awesome in my opinion.
After I took the kids in (Lily's feet were getting soaked, she had to wear her dress boots because when she was sick, guess where, in her good winter boots and we cannot get them clean! gross I know!) Kevin stayed outside awhile longer and finished building the fort we started near Mr. Snowman. It looks awesome! I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow perhaps.

Mona Lisa's

So we decided upon many peoples recommendations to go out to Mona Lisa's. We learned a few things about ourselves, well at least I guess we, remembered a few things.

We like good food, but are more of a home-cooking, international, try different things but definately not FANCY type of couple. The food was tasty, the environment loud, and the dessert very highly overpriced! I suppose we like to feel we enjoyed our meal, but that we get a bang for our buck, maybe it's just the issues with jobs and everything over the last year. We both agreed that we preferred our dinner at Dragonetti's on our last anniversary for about half the price better.

That being said, Mona Lisa's will not be on our wish to try list any longer.

Nutrition and Wellness Class

On Wednesday night, our 9th Anniversary, I know! I attended a Nutrition and Wellness class at our chiropractors office, while hubby stayed home with the kids. It was very exciting.

She discussed some of the current scary statistics regarding health in the United States, what type of "studies" you should actually pay attention to, and discussed how to eat healthier.

1. Basicly, eliminate all oils, cook with water and a few other alternatives.
2. Only consume animal proteins occasionally - no more than 2-3 times/week. (this includes all meat/fish/yogurt/butter/milk/eggs - - anything that came from something that could look back at you)
3. Don't skip breakfast. They recommend a certain smoothie that you should drink 32 oz. of every morning or oatmeal and fruit.
4. Eat only whole grains or sprouted grains for your breads and pasta.
5. Eliminate all processed foods and cane sugars.
6. Use a good whole food supplement like Juice Plus.
7. Get a moderate level of excercise.

We have done most of this except the oil thing and we eat more than 2-3 servings of animal proteins a week, but I'm still feeling like I really need a basic cooking class and ideas of how to get my family to eat more beans and veggies in place of the animal products.

9th Anniversary!

Today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary!

We've been together 11 years.

We're going out on Friday night.

La Leche League Leadership

Well, it took me a year, but I signed my letter of committment just before Christmas and I am officially now a La Leche League leader in my community.

Lots of reading, now I'm a little nervous to lead my first meeting in February, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Going to Michigan

My brother and his family are coming to Michigan from Germany for a week visit!

Kevin's vacation was approved and we are going to be able to go, I cannot wait to introduce Grayson to his auntie and cousins (he only met Tommy at 4 or 5 months old) and he is over two now!

Just thrilled here!!!
