Visit to the Aquarium

So, it's the end of October and we never actually did our "special" activity as a family for Graysons birthday (we had three weekends in a row with sets of grandparents visiting - which was fun, special and exhausting), so we took off a Thursday and went to the Cities for some family fun!

We started by eating at Ikea, the kids meals are only $0.99 to $1.99 and Kevin loves their meatball dinner, I kinda enjoy it as well! Then we went to the aquarium in the MOA (mall of america), expensive, but oh so fun! Grayson's favorites are the turtles small and big, Lily was really intrugued by the sharks, we really enjoyed this odd looking fish, we asked, it is called a paddle fish and when it's mouth is open, it looks like all you can see is a skeletal structure. Interesting! Plus, I didn't know that Lily has been studying fish in school right now - - bonus! We all really enjoyed the new display called Seahorse Kingdom. We also touched little sting rays and star fish and such, Lily and Grayson both participated.

We had been given some free tickets for Nickoldeon Universe as well. Each one (we had 6) ended up being good for the kids to both ride a ride together. Kevin or I had to ride with Grayson, but we went on tons of kiddy rides. They really liked the hot air balloon and swipper's cars (daddy did that one) - many squeals in delight and smiles.

We're exhausted but had a blast!

We have SNOW!

October 23, 2009 - It snows in Wisconsin!
Lily loves it, Grayson hates it and everyone seems to forgotten how to drive. Hopefully, this will be gone soon!

Lily in School!

Well, Lily has officially been in school for about a month now! She is in 4k at our local Chippewa Valley Montossori Charter School. She LOVES it!

She does her "work," has new friends, adores her teacher Ms. Jen (she also has Ms. Anna and Ms. Betsy) and gets presentations each day. She is always willing to share what she had for snack. She has started to write her name so much smaller and always with the letters in order already! She marched with her school in the International Fall festival parade downtown EC, thanks Aunt Christy for an amazing outfit.

Just ask her, she will talk you head off about it. Hope she still loves it when her year is through. This picture is from her very first day of school.
